Moodle Puppies

The Joy of Moodle Puppies

If you are in the market for a new puppy but you want something small, fluffy, and sweet, you should definitely look at Moodle puppies.  These adorable dogs have become increasingly popular for a number of reasons.  In the past few years, a number of hybrid dogs have been created, one being Moodle puppies, which are a cross between a Maltese and Poodle.

Sometimes, Moodle puppies are also called Malt-a-Poos and Maltipoos, which have much of the Maltese look but the personality of a Poodle.  The primary benefit to this hybrid is that with the Poodle hair, there is no shedding.  Therefore, if you or someone in the home has asthma or allergies, Moodle puppies make the perfect consideration for a new family pet.

Moodle puppies are also perfect for people in the business world.  Again, with the lack of hair to get on furniture and clothes, time is not spent trying to keep up a nice home or look professional for work.  Another reason that people go with this hybrid is that it is so cute, therefore considered a designer dog.  While Moodle puppies need proper love and care just as with any breed, they are extremely adorable and because of the small size, they can be carried around or traveled with easily.

Keep in mind that while Moodle puppies are as cute as can be, they are not registered breeds because of being hybrids.  Even so, you would end up with a tiny dog that would weigh at maturity between 5 and 12 pounds depending on the size of the parents.  These dogs also come in a variety of different colors and color combinations to include all black, all white, apricot, buff, gray, or a mixture of any.

You will also find that Moodle puppies have very soft and fine coats.  Now, because of this, a good brushing will keep the fur looking great but because of these puppies being part Poodle, they do need some grooming.  As far as the amount of grooming, this would be based on each puppy.  For instance, some have more of the Poodle coat, meaning they need grooming every four weeks whereas others have more of the Maltese coat, whereby grooming is not needed as often.

The temperament of Moodle puppies is great.  Most are very sweet and love affection but this tiny dog also is a bundle of energy, especially when young.  However, because of the size, with regular exercise, this would make an ideal pet if you live in an apartment, condominium, or home with little to no yard space.  Interestingly, Moodle puppies grow into great alert dogs and most do very well with children and other animals.

As far as health for Moodle puppies, if cared for properly, they can easily live to be 15 years of age.  Sometimes, they will experience skin and eye problems, which comes from the Maltese side and finally, because Moodle puppies tend to be barkers, you will need to provide proper training from a young age so your new pet only barks when warranted.
