White Lab Puppies

All about white lab puppies

White lab puppies are the lightest color of the yellow variety of Labrador retriever.  They appear white in color, although they are classified and registered as yellow.  The Labrador retriever is the most popular breed of dog in the world, and all you have to do is examine the dog’s temperament to find out why.

Before we talk about temperament, just remember that white lab puppies are just that: puppies.  All puppies act like puppies, regardless of breeding or nurturing.  Just like the puppies of other breeds, white lab puppies will display very excitable behavior and tend to nibble and chew on everything.  These puppy characteristics will seem worse with white lab puppies because they are larger than many other breeds.  This means they can destroy some things you wouldn’t think they could because smaller breeds couldn’t.  However, if you love your white lab puppies and carefully train them not to display these destructive behaviors, then you’re sure to have a dog that will love you and your entire family for its whole life.

The reason people love white lab puppies so much is because of their loveable temperament.  Although Labrador retrievers don’t become fully mature until they are three years old, this temperament will become much more prevalent after the dog is a year old.  This breed of dog makes a great pet for any family, especially those with very active family members.  They are wonderful with children and usually love having company over.  The most important thing you can do for your white lab puppies is to teach them how to behave while they are still small.

Labrador retrievers love to hold things in their mouths, even hands or other objects.  This is why it’s very important to teach them early not to bite too hard.  The average Labrador retriever can actually carry an egg in its mouth without breaking it.

The Labrador retriever needs a lot of exercise to burn off lots of energy, so you should only get this breed of dog if you have a large yard for the dog to run in.  Most labs don’t jump high fences or dig, and having a large yard will also help prevent these types of exploration.  Labs love to play fetch, especially if it involves water play.  A Labrador retriever was bred to fetch game for hunters, both in the woods and in the water.  For this reason, this breed’s coat pretty much allows the water to run right off of it.

The average Labrador retriever will grow to between 65 and 90 pounds.  Labs have an enormous appetite, so it’s important to keep their meals in check and avoid over-feeding them.  A lab that’s close to 100 pounds or over 100 pounds is considered obese.

The Labrador retriever is a very versatile breed that not only makes a great pet but also is the perfect companion dog or working dog.  They’re very trainable, so you will find it easy to teach them just about anything.
